Description
Grand Prismatic Spring is located in the Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States, It measures approximately 370 feet in diameter and is over 121 feet deep. The center of the deep pool is a brilliant blue with bands of orange, yellow and green. Radiating out from the edge of the pool are the runoff channels, consisting of various thermophile bacteria of yellows, oranges and browns living in the cooler water around the spring. The steam from the pool reaches for the storm clouds moving over the forest covered hillside.
Whether you are viewing it from the boardwalk or from the overlook, Grand Prismatic is one of the most amazing sites in the park and one of the most visited. With its ever-changing beauty, it never gets old.

Amazing area Ann! Last time I was in the park was on the July 4th (don't remember the year) and had to buy long sleeve sweat shirts just to keep warm. Probably the summer day hadn't happened yet...
